In 2014, the City of Huntington Beach undertook the preparation of a comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. The purpose of the Strategy is to identify the highest priority economic development objectives in Huntington Beach, and to set goals, policies and recommended actions that will set the framework for short term (0-2 years), mid-term (3-5 years), and long-term economic decisions.

The Strategy contains a diverse range of core objectives and goals that support the City's Economic Development vision to focus on the retention, attraction and expansion of the business community, consistent with the City Council's Strategic Goals to "Enhance Economic Development" and "Improve Financial Stability."

Overall, the Economic Development Strategy provides a road map to increase the overall community wealth and prosperity of the residents and businesses in the City.
