Business Visits

The City of Huntington Beach recognizes the importance of existing businesses and seeks to enhance communication lines with our business community and improve the business environment.   The City seeks to forge a strong relationship with our business community by working with them at various levels.  

In an effort to enhance the lines of communication between existing businesses and the City, this program allows key Staff to spend time with business owners discussing operations, opportunities, and challenges facing the business as well as answering any questions or concerns the business owner may have.

By improving engagement with businesses, our Staff can identify areas in which we can offer assistance.  Valuable services include introducing businesses to resources, helping promote them, and encouraging retention and expansion.

Mayor's Spotlight Awards

The Mayor recognizes community members and businesses each month via the Mayor's Spotlight Awards.  To nominate a Huntington Beach business for recognition and receive a Mayor's Spotlight Award Certificate, please fill out the request form and allow at least four weeks from the submission date for scheduling. The Mayor's Spotlight Awards take place once a month and are held at City Hall.

Sustainable Business Certification

The Huntington Beach Sustainable Business Certification Program, a part of California Green Business Network, is dedicated to fostering a cleaner and healthier environment by assisting businesses in integrating sustainable and profitable environmental practices into their operations. This is a FREE and voluntary program, available to businesses in the Office, Retail, and Restaurant sectors.  The HB Sustainable Certified Business Directory provides a map of businesses that have achieved certification.  The only requirements to sign up are to be located in Huntington Beach and to have a valid Huntington Beach business license.
